What is precious to you?

I always look forward to election day each year because it is the only day of the year we can use the term "exercise" without climbing on a treadmill.  Did you exercise your right to vote?  Great.  Half of America voted for the winner and half of America voted for the loser.  A fantastic exercise.  Job well done.  Speaking of exercise, do you think those elected Washington officals have gym memberships or personal trainers as part of their compensation package?  Hey, lets not dwell on what's potentially wrong in Washington - but rather, what is precious to you.  Precious to you like the ability to speak out and express your opinon in passionate and articulate ways.  How about also working on our world's challenges?  Our family and children's daily challenges.  That's pretty precious.  Say perhaps, our very own health and happiness or treating the planet with respect and feeding 10 billion people.  Or hey, what comes after OIL?  I know some fabulous existence is out there after oil and emissions right? I'd like my children to experience what comes next on that front - now that is precious to me and I'm happy to chat about that.  Politics, nope not that interested.  Right wing or left wing or religion?  No thanks.  Abortion?  Hallpass.  I'll let those of you who hold those subjects as precious to take the lead there.  Me?  I'm a registered Republican that walks through downtown and hands out money whenever someone asks me.  My friend (a yellow dog democrat) always says what a sucker I am.  You see, I view my personal caring soul as unique and completely seperate from government.  Yep - don't want empathy and kindness and a kind soul AND government to mix creating any sort of emotional yucky areas alongside roads, infrastructure and military safety.  No gray areas there and best of all - little to no emotion associated with your tax dollar. Ok now we're talking politics.  Please kindly separate all that human emotion and drama away from where my income and property tax dollars go - thank you.  Find what is precious to you and exercise your right to health and happiness.  Discover what is precious to you and exercise something each and every election day.
